This award is dedicated to the memory of an outstanding young man who tragically lost his life in a drowning accident. Todd’s life was filled with promise and enthusiasm for the future and brought great joy to his family and friends.
Todd’s passion for the game of hockey started at a very early age. He enjoyed it so much that getting up for those dreaded 6:00 AM’ers (games or practices) was never a problem. Road hockey games on the street and air hockey games at his grandparents home always included many of his closest friends. Once he was too tired to play outside, Todd and his friends would enjoy the game inside on Nintendo ‘64 or NHL ‘99.
Todd always liked being around people (adults included) and loved to make everybody laugh. Todd loved his family and, more importantly, maintained an open and honest relationship with his parents. Birthday parties and vacations were his most treasured memories.
In January 2001 Todd was a recipient posthumously of the Medal of Bravery issued by the Governor General of Canada.
